Frequently Asked Questions

Nope. If you have multiple SELCO accounts, you can easily access all of them by switching account profiles while logged in. To do this, click or tap on your profile picture, then select which account you’d like to view. That's all there is to it.

By enabling Face or Fingerprint ID, you can log in quickly and securely without entering a security code every time. However, as an additional layer of security, you may be prompted to enter a code on occasion. Please note: Your initial login for every device will require security code verification.

Very little, actually. The navigation is slightly different because of the different screen sizes (for example, the main navigation on the desktop version is at the top of the screen, while on the app the navigation panel is at the bottom). Otherwise, the only differences will be:

  • The ability to deposit checks from the app using your phone’s camera.
  • Facial and/or fingerprint recognition to log in on the app.
  • A quick view of your account balances without having to log in to the app.

You can take your pick between the two versions to view your accounts, transaction history, and check images, as well as schedule bill payments, transfer funds, apply for a loan, sign up for and view eStatements, and even schedule virtual or in-person appointments.

We’ve strengthened our login requirements to better safeguard your accounts. Alphanumeric usernames are still required to log in to digital banking. Here are the new username and password requirements:

Username:

  • 8-32 characters
  • Can include letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Member numbers are prohibited.
  • Contain at least one letter.
  • Cannot match your password.

Password:

  • 8-32 characters
  • Can include letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Contain at least one letter.
  • Cannot match your username, member number, first name, or last name.
  • Passwords will still be validated against a national list of prohibited passwords obtained from previous massive security breaches and commonly used passwords. These will also be prohibited.
  • Spaces are encouraged, and SELCO recommends that users consider using a sentence or phrase in place of a traditional password.
  • Supported special characters include: ~!@#$%^&*()-_+={[]}|:;’“?,<.>/

As a security feature, if you unsuccessfully log in three times, your account will be restricted from online access. (This is to prevent someone from trying to guess your password.) To unlock your account, click the “Forgot Password” link and follow the instructions. You can also contact us through live chat or by calling 800-445-4483 and we’ll help reset your password.

Often, members see this error when using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). You’ll need to turn off your VPN before accessing digital banking. But rest assured, your account information is encrypted between your device and SELCO’s server, providing the same level of encryption as a virtual private network. In other words, a VPN is not necessary to protect your sensitive banking data.

If turning off your VPN doesn't work, we recommend trying a different internet connection (WiFi vs. cellular or vice versa) and confirming that you're using a supported browser (the last two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge).

Our digital banking system supports the last two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, as well as iOS 15 or higher and Android 11 or higher. To update the Android WebView and Chrome browser on an Android device, follow these instructions:

Update Android System WebView:

  1. Launch the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Select Android System WebView.
  4. Tap App details in store.
  5. Tap Update. Then, restart the device.

Update Chrome on Android:

  1. Open the Google Play app and tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Manage apps & device > Updates available.
  3. You'll see available updates for apps on your phone. Find Google Chrome and tap Update. Or tap Update all.

You bet. Call us at 800-445-4483, send us a secure message in digital banking, or stop by your local branch, and we’ll be happy to help set that up for you. If you aren’t registered for digital banking, visit selco.org/contact-us to send us an email. Please note: If you’re applying for membership, you can add a joint when opening a new account online. However, you don’t need to open an additional membership to add a joint account holder.

Yes, in most cases you can. Typically, the primary (or first-named account holder) will keep the current username. To get started with your own login, register using any member number where you’re an account holder on all the deposits and loans. Once logged in, you’ll see a personalized view of all your deposits and loans at SELCO across any other membership accounts you hold.

You can! On the login screen, you’ll have the option to add usernames for your other accounts (for example, a business or child's account). Once a login is added, you can simply select it from the drop-down and enter the password to gain access to that account.

The list of usernames that will appear is tied to each device you use to access digital banking. For example, you can save a few usernames on your phone and a few others on your PC. To ensure uninterrupted use of this service, be sure to enable your browsers to save cookies. Note: This feature won't work in cookies-based browsers like Incognito and InPrivate.

If you use biometrics to access our digital banking app, this capability can only be tied to one login. By setting up biometrics on a new username, it will override the existing one. For step-by-step instructions with screenshots, see the Add Usernames to the Login Dropdown How-To.

There are numerous instances in which you would need to switch profiles. Even though your other accounts are all nested under your main account, each profile is unique and would require individual updates, such as:

  • Change of address, phone number, and email address.
  • Security settings like multi-factor authentication and alerts.
  • Bill Pay and external transfer accounts, including wires.
  • Financial wellness tools, which can be set up differently in each profile.
  • Your profile photo, which is unique to each profile.

The phone number that sends your login verification code is randomly generated. However, the message before the validation code will remain the same, and it should arrive shortly after you request it.

We’re sorry, but investment accounts can’t be linked to the Financial Wellness tools at this time.
