SELCO Community Credit Union Again Ranked Among “Best Credit Unions in Oregon” by Forbes

A nationwide survey of more than 26,000 U.S. residents evaluated credit unions based on satisfaction, trust, customer service, digital tools, transparency of fees, and the quality of an institution’s financial advice

(SPRINGFIELD, Ore) — SELCO Community Credit Union has once again been named one of the top credit unions in Oregon by Forbes as part of its 2025 list of “America’s Best Credit Unions in Each State.” This marks the fourth time in six years SELCO has earned a spot on the prestigious list.

Of the nearly 5,000 credit unions operating in the U.S., less than 5% made the 2025 list, with SELCO standing out as one of just five in Oregon. By ranking third among all Oregon credit unions that met the survey criteria, SELCO maintained its top-tier standing, matching its 2023 ranking and reinforcing its consistent reputation for service excellence and member satisfaction.

“For nearly 90 years, we’ve focused on one thing: the best interests of our members,” said Bob Newcomb, SELCO’s President/CEO. “This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from the people we serve. It also reflects the passion and dedication of our 460-plus team members, all of whom embody our member-first philosophy.”

The rankings were based on an independent survey conducted by Statista, a leading market research firm, which polled more than 26,000 U.S. residents with checking or savings accounts. Financial institutions were scored on overall satisfaction and five subcategories: trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, and financial advice. To highlight the most community-focused institutions, nationwide banks and credit unions with locations in 15 or more states were excluded from the rankings.

Of the thousands of credit unions operating in the U.S., only 222 made the 2025 list, with SELCO standing out as one of just five in Oregon.
