Wildfire Assistance

To members affected by the wildfires

Your safety is our greatest concern, and we’re grateful to responders working to contain the fires, ensure safe evacuation routes, and provide emergency shelter.

We’re also committed to helping you through this difficult time—now and when you have a better idea of what your long-term needs may be. In addition to Wildfire Disruption Loans, we’re offering special Skip Payments and working one-on-one to find solutions for your specific situation.

If you are a current SELCO member* and have been affected by the wildfires in Oregon, Washington, California, or elsewhere, we encourage you to take advantage of one or all of the following options:

Wildfire Disruption Loan

  • Loan amount up to $2,500.
  • 18-month term with no payments due for the first six months.
  • 2% fixed interest rate.**

Special Skip Payment For Eligible Loans

  • Special Skip Payment for eligible SELCO vehicle, credit card, or personal loans, as well as home equity lines of credit (HELOCs).
  • Use this special Skip Payment for eligible loans even if you’ve used a Skip Payment previously.
  • Skip Payment fee will be waived, and you can submit your request through online banking.

FEMA Registration for Disaster Assistance

State and federal officials are encouraging Oregon residents affected by the wildfires and straight-line winds to register for disaster assistance with FEMA as soon as possible. Disaster assistance may include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.

To confirm availability in your area and to register, visit DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800-621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585) between 7 am to 10 pm PDT, seven days a week.

SBA Low-Interest Disaster Loans

Low-interest disaster loans from the US Small Business Administration are available to homeowners, renters, and businesses. To learn more, visit sba.gov/services/disasterassistance or call 800-659-2955.



 

* To be eligible for a Wildfire Disruption Loan, you must have become a SELCO member on or before September 9, 2020.

**Rate may change and is current as of 09/10/2020. Payment example: On an 18-month Wildfire Disruption Loan for $2,000, you would make no payments for each of the first six months, and payments of $169.89 for each of the following 12 months.
